Rovers in Portugal: Players’ daily schedule

Doncaster Rovers’ squad will be put through their paces in Portugal for the next five days.

Here’s a taste of what they can expect on a daily basis, as fitness coach Ben Rome outlines a typical day at the club’s Vilamoura training base:

7-8am: Breakfast

9am: Gym session: 15 minutes of injury prevention work; 45 minutes strength and power work

10am: Recovery period

10.45am: Activation and mobility session: hamstrings, back and core muscle groups

11-12.30am: Football session with Paul Dickov and coaching staff

12.30am: Optional 15-minute pool session

1pm: Lunch

1.30-4.15pm: Recovery and rest

4.15pm: Activation and mobility session

4.30-6pm: Football sesssion

6pm: Optional 15-minute pool session

7pm: Dinner

8pm: Team bonding
