DOWN in the dumps Doncaster Rovers must rediscover their fighting spirit for Saturday’s big basement battle at Reading - because it did go missing for a period in Wales.
They will face a side in the midst of a mini-crisis themselves, which almost certainly rules out a repeat of last season’s seven goal thriller in Berkshire.
Under pressure Brian McDermott told the press this week that his team never looked like getting back into the game when they went a goal down to Watford at the weekend.
He said his players are playing with fear, admitted that confidence levels are down and confessed that Reading don’t look like a team.
It’s five straight defeats for McDermott and his men.
They want to try 18 without a win.
Sadly his frank appraisal could arguably be applied to Doncaster Rovers during the closing stages at the Cardiff City Stadium.
