They say a week is a long time in football, try 24 hours after Sean O’Driscoll’s job went from safe to Saunders seemingly overnight!

As a supporter that began watching in the old Fourth Division, I’d like to say a massive thanks to Sean for bringing a quality of football I never thought I’d see.

He offered a different perspective on the game, taught people a lot and most importantly delivered success, he gave us some memorable days out and established the club at its highest level.

It’s sad to see him depart on the back of a disappointing run during which events cruelly conspired against us, but that should take nothing away from a remarkable five years.

We now have a new manager in Dean Saunders who deserves full support.

A win in his first game lifted everyone, and I’m backing us to get something on Saturday too.

Peterborough 2 Rovers 2
