The Championship is a “ridiculous” division and therefore Doncaster cannot be lulled into a false sense of security, Paul Dickov has warned.
Four wins in six - including last weekend’s superb 2-1 triumph at Leeds United - have lifted Rovers to 18th in the table and the brink of survival.
But Dickov will lead his team into battles with lowly Birmingham and Bolton over the coming week demanding more of the same from his rejuvenated side.
Dickov, whose passionate post-match celebration at Elland Road said everything about the significance of Rovers’ first win over Leeds in eight attempts, said: “We’re closer to where we want to be but there’s still seven games left.
“Our form in the last six games - four wins and a draw - has been excellent and we really have to keep that going.
“This is a tough division.
“It’s also a ridiculous division in which teams pick up points left, right and centre, so we have to look after ourselves and make sure we do things properly.
“We can’t start worrying about what other teams are doing.
“We’ve got ourselves in a great position but what we have to do is back the Leeds result up over the coming week.
“Our home form has been really good and we have to continue that to give ourselves an even better chance of staying up.
“Birmingham will be another battle, another scrap.
“It’s another game we have to win.
“The objective is to get safe as quickly as we can,” he added.
“What we can’t do is get carried away. This game has got a horrible habit of coming back and biting you on the bum.
“It was a fantastic win at Leeds but we have to re-focus and go again.”
