Finding a goalscorer is at the top of Paul Dickov’s summer to-do list.
The Scot admits that Rovers profligacy cost them a top half finish - or better - in League One.
Doncaster scored 58 league goals but only relegated Yeovil Town and Crewe scored fewer goals on home soil than Rovers (24). And Dickov has put the issue of goals to the top of his agenda during the close season.
Asked by The Star what his priority was this summer, Dickov said: “ We definitely want to strengthen the squad.
“I don’t think it’s any secret that we need a goalscorer, and that’s nothing against the ones we’ve got here already.
“We’ve missed too many chances. Our home form’s been horrendous but if you look back at some of the performances and some of the chances we’ve missed, we could quite easily have turned that around. That’s got to be our main priority.”
Player of the Year Nathan Tyson finished the season with 14 goals to his name, his best personal tally for nine years.
Curtis Main also hit double figures, with 10. Harry Forrester scored nine and Kyle Bennett eight.
