LOAN arranger Dean Saunders has not ruled out making another temporary signing before Saturday’s South Yorkshire derby at Barnsley.

Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is almost certain to replace Neil Sullivan in the starting line-up at Oakwell after joining from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a two-month deal.

But Ikeme may not be the only new face in the Doncaster squad this weekend as Saunders continues his recruitment drive ahead of next Thursday’s loan deadline.

Saunders, who recently joined Willie McKay on a scouting trip to France, said: “We’ve got our eyes on a few players from a few different countries - not just France.

“We need to strengthen certain areas of the team and I’m hoping to do a bit of business before the deadline.

“There is one particular player we’ve identified and there’s a chance it could happen before Saturday.”
