AN AWAY day at Walsall will welcome Doncaster Rovers back into League One.

Dean Saunders’ side will make the trip to the Bescot Stadium on the opening day of the campaign, August 18.

Rovers will also be away on other big dates through the season.

They will travel to Oldham Athletic on Boxing Day and close the season with a trip to Brentford on April 27.

Rovers will face a home double header during the opening week of the season with Bury visiting on Tuesday, August 21.

Then comes a reunion with former boss Sean O’Driscoll who brings newly-promoted Crawley Town to the Keepmoat on August 25.

Rovers will visit local rivals Sheffield United on September 18 with the return fixture taking place on New Year’s Day.

The M18 derby with Scunthorpe United is at the Keepmoat on November 24 with the trip to Glanford Park on March 23.

Opening day hosts Walsall finished 19th in League One last term, avoiding relegation by seven points.
