SEAN O’Driscoll has been appointed as first team coach at Doncaster’s relegation rivals Nottingham Forest.
He will work alongside current Forest boss Steve Cotterill - who has struggled for results since taking over at the City Ground in October - after agreeing to join the Reds until the end of the season.
Forest are currently just one point and one place better off than Rovers.
Cotterill and O’Driscoll might seem to represent something of an unlikely match - the pair clashed after David Healy was sent-off in Doncaster’s 3-2 win at Cotterill’s Portsmouth last season.
But the duo know each other from when they played together at Bournemouth.
Cotterill told Nottingham Forest’s official website: “Sean and I go back a long way, we’re old friends, and I am delighted to have been able to add him to my coaching staff.”
Some of Doncaster’s players took to Twitter this morning to welcome their former manager back into the game.
John Oster tweeted: “Good to see drizzy back in football!! #howtidymusthisgardenbe”
While Gary Woods added: “Glad to see the old gaffer back in a job.”
