Marc De Val could be the key man when it comes to finding some consistency.
I think the Spaniard has tended to be the fall guy at times this season.
Whether that’s down to fitness or tactics, I’m not really sure.
But if we can get the midfielder fully up to speed and firing on all cyclinders he has the ability to make us tick and get us playing.
De Val has good vision and is the sort of creative player we need in there alongside Richie Wellens, to take the pressure off Richie a bit.
He has started the last three wins, against Burton, Scunthorpe and Chesterfield, so hopefully he’ll now get a run in the side and we can string a few more good results together.
After ten games we are 13th in the table and that’s probably close to what the majority of us fans expected.
But we’ve been very up and down so far this season, which has been frustrating. The performances against Yeovil, Preston and Colchester, in particular, highlight the potential of this team.
I’m sticking by my predicition before a ball was kicked and reckon Rovers could squeeze into the play-offs, although I do tend to think we’re a couple of players short.
We’ve got a very young backline and we’re very threadbare on the bench.
We could do with bringing in another experienced centre back and centre forward if we are to make a serious push for the top six.
You look at the bench and there aren’t a great deal of options there to be able to change a game.
