Injury-ravaged Doncaster Rovers have signed Jamaican international striker Jason Euell on loan from Blackpool in the wake of Tuesday night’s record 6-0 home defeat against Ipswich Town.
Rovers had 11 players ruled out for the midweek clash and manager Sean O’Driscoll told the Free Press yesterday he would like to make three loan signings before Saturday’s visit to high flying Swansea City.
Euell, who can also play in midfield, has nine caps for Jamaica and previously played four times for the England Under 21 team.
The 34-year-old has spent most of his career in the Premier League previously playing for Wimbledon, Charlton, Middlesbrough and Southampton.
Charlton signed him for a club record fee of £4.75 million in July, 2001 and he repaid them by topping the scoring charts at the Valley three seasons in a row.
He will go straight into the Rovers squad for Saturday’s trip to Wales.
