JASON Euell will hand Rovers a much-needed fitness boost by returning to the squad at Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

The on-loan Blackpool striker was back in training on Thursday and could partner James Hayter in attack at the City Ground.

Boss Sean O’Driscoll, meanwhile, is today still pondering a late move for a loan striker.

But any such deal is complicated by the fact that another temporary signing would take the club’s current number of loan players to seven - and only five can be named in a matchday squad.

Top scorer Billy Sharp is almost certain to miss the rest of the season after the club confirmed that the 25-year-old tore his troublesome groin in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Coventry.

Sharp must now wait for the tear to heal before undergoing the hernia operation he requires.

He will be joined on the sidelines by midfielder Paul Keegan whose cartilage problem also looks set to rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Joseph Mills should return at left back against Forest after recovering from a foot problem, while John Oster was back in training today and hopes to play some part against the promotion chasing Reds.
