Doncaster Rovers striker Andy Williams has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One player of the month award.
Williams netted four goals in four league games during December, helping towards his current tally of 13 for the season.
It is the second consecutive month that the 29-year-old has been nominated for the award.
He is nominated alongside Blackpool defender Tom Aldred, Walsall midfielder Adam Chambers and Burton Albion keeper Jon McLaughlin.
Judges said of Williams’ nomination: “As well as his all-round play in the penalty area, his wonderfully inventive drag back and Berghkampesque finish against Oldham Athletic was the pick of his four goals in as many games.”
McLauglin kept three clean sheets in five games for Burton and saved a penalty in the 3-3 draw with Rovers.
Aldred netted the only goal of the game in Blackpool’s win over Wigan Athletic and was superb at the other end as well as in the clash with Peterborough United.
Midfield blocker Chambers played a major role in Walsall conceding just one goal in the whole month.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
