EL Hadji Diouf is attracting interest from Russian moneybags Anzhi Makhachkala and MLS side LA Galaxy, according to reports.

Diouf is reported to have spoken to officials from Anzhi - the club that recently made Cameroon stiker Samuel Etoo the highest paid player in the world - over a possible switch to the Russian League in January.

David Beckham’s LA Galaxy are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Diouf’s three-month deal at Doncaster runs out next month and Dean Saunders is still confident he can persuade the Senegalese star to stay at the Keepmoat Stadium for the rest of the season.

But if the 30-year-old were to stay, he would be earning a fraction of the figure he could pick up in Russia or in the States.

Diouf, who is hoping to recover from a hamstring strain to play at Burnley on Boxing Day, was named Supporters Club Player of the Month for November.

He collected his award before Rovers’ 2-1 win over Leicester on Saturday.
