Paul Dickov has hailed the impact of Curtis Main after his game-changing finish against Bradford City.
The 22-year-old capture from Middlesbrough burst out of the blocks for his new side, scoring on his Rovers league debut against Yeovil Town.
However, two games later Doncaster were dealt a mammoth blow when the striker suffered a knee injury which kept him on the sidelines for around two months.
But Main has returned with a bang and was on hand to deliver the killer blow which saw Rovers snatch a 2-1 victory at Valley Parade on Saturday.
“It was a fantastic finish, I know that’s what he’s capable of,” said Dickov.
“Once we get him upto speed with match fitness, he will score a lot of goals in this league.
“He’s not quite where we want to be and where he wants to be at the minute, but he’s got that ability to change a game like he did against Bradford.
“First half we starved [Nathan] Tyson and Curtis of any real service, we brought Harry [Forrester] on and slightly changed our shape. We were then able to get Richie Wellens on the ball who I thought was outstanding second half.
“That allowed Curtis, Nathan and Theo [Robinson] to try and get on the end of things a little bit more and I think that caused Bradford problems.”
