DON’T miss this week’s Free Press for the very latest on Doncaster Rovers’ attempts to sign El Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda.

Talks are currently taking place between Diouf’s representatives and Rovers, while Chimbonda was a spectator at the Keepmoat Stadium last night as Rovers drew 1-1 with Hull City.

Wigan and Portsmouth are also thought to be interested in signing the 30-year-old Senegalese striker Diouf, who is a free agent after being released by Blackburn Rovers last month.

Dean Saunders wants to inject new players into a squad he believes has been mentally tarnished by winning just once in their last 20 league games.

Doncaster’s new boss shares the same agent with Diouf - who has courted controversy almost everywhere he has gone in the game.

He cost Liverpool £10million when he moved to Anfield from French side Lens in 2002.

Former Tottenham full back Chimbonda is also a free agent after being released by Queens Park Rangers.
