Ipswich Town’s Paul Anderson has warned that Rovers will be no walkovers when they make the trip to Portman Road this weekend.

The Tractor Boys are going into Saturday’s Championship tie on the back of a solid 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

And despite Doncaster suffering back-to-back defeats this week, Anderson has urged that Rovers will not be pushovers as they look to get their results back on track in their bid to secure their Championship survival.

“We all know Doncaster will provide a strong challenge. They might be a few points clear of a relegation scrap but they will be battling for the points,” said the 25-year-old.

“Sometimes when you are at home, there is added pressure to perform. But our fans have been brilliant and hopefully we can give them plenty to celebrate this weekend.”

Ipswich will also have another added incentive to perform well as a win should see them into the play-off spots.

Town sit just two points behind sixth-placed Reading, who have to wait until Monday for their next game which is a home tie against already-promoted Leicester City.

Anderson, who scored a stunning opening goal in their 2-0 victory over Huddersfield this week, said: “That is what we are aiming for [sixth place]. If we can get the win, who knows we could be in the top six at 5pm on Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Ipswich chief Mick McCarthy will be boosted by the return of left-back Aaron Cresswell who came off on Tuesday with a groin problem - but only as a precaution.

The 24-year-old, a joint-leader in terms of Championship assists (13), should be fit for Doncaster.

Cresswell added: “It’s more or less the same thing that I had pre-season so it was just a precaution coming off because I didn’t want to make it any worse. I was in the next day, I’ve had ice on it and it feels a lot better.”
