Rovers have offered new contracts to eight players, the club’s retained list has revealed.
The Football League has been informed that the eight will leave the club unless agreement on new deals can be agreed.
James Coppinger, Ross Turnbull, David Cotterill, Paul Keegan, Alex Peterson, Harry Middleton, Jon Maxted and Liam Wakefield have all been offered new terms.
New deals have not been offered to defensive duo Gabriel Tamas and Abdoulaye Meite who joined on short term contracts in January.
Striker Billy Paynter - who concluded the season on loan at Sheffield United - has been released, along with youngsters Jordan Binns, Evan Finnegan, Josh Meade and Chris Whincop.
Young quartet Ben Askins, Lewis Ferguson, Mitchell Lund and Billy Whitehouse have all been offered their first professional contracts.
Rovers have confirmed 13 players remain under contract with the club. These are: Chris Brown, Harry Forrester, Mark Duffy, James Husband, Richie Wellens, Paul Quinn, Rob Jones, Jamie McCombe, Dean Furman, Marc De Val, Kyle Bennett, Theo Robinson and Luke McCullough.
