Paul Dickov will look to the loan market for cover after James Husband was ruled out for three months.

The left back will this week have an operation on his shoulder after suffering an injury in last week’s defeat to Burnley.

“James is going to be out for around 12 weeks,” Dickov said. “We’ve just got to try and get him back as quickly as we can.

“It’s a massive blow to us and for the kid himself as well. He’s come in and done fantastically well for us.

“But the main thing now is we look after him and get him right.”

Dickov is set to enter the loan market during the international break despite Reece Wabara proving a more than adequate stand in for Husband against Leicester on Saturday.

The on loan Manchester City full back produced arguably his best defensive performance since his arrival.

But Dickov revealed there were concerns over the fitness over both Wabara and fellow full back Paul Quinn.

And he said the hardworking performance of the pair further demonstrated the togetherness of the squad.

He said: “Both full backs who played probably shouldn’t have through injury. They went out there and put their bodies on the line for us.

“It’s not just those two, the superb attitude runs throughout the squad.

“Richie Wellens was in his bed all week ill but he wanted to come and sit on the bench for us and come on if we needed him.

“Mark Duffy and Dean Furman came into the team when they’ve been in and out and showed a fantastic attitude.

“We’re trying to pride ourselves on togetherness here. Not just on the footballing side but throughout the club.

“We had Billy Paynter, James Coppinger and David Cotterill not in the team but showing a fantastic attitude.

“If we’ve got that togetherness and that will to win that the players have had throughout the season, we’ve got a chance of being successful.”
