Rovers have completed the signing of Curtis Main on a three-year deal as part of James Husband’s switch to Middlesbrough.
A big, hard-working and powerful forward, Main is expected to fill the gap left by Chris Brown, who joined Blackburn Rovers earlier in the summer.
“He’s big, strong and quick. The one thing you’ll get off him is 110% every game and he gives us a different option,” boss Paul Dickov to the club’s official site.
“There’s a lot of goals in him and he’s very hungry and very focussed and he’s the type of player we want to bring in.”
“We look at players and get to know them as people and Nathan (Tyson) and Curtis, along with Theo (Robinson), will be real assets for the division we’re going in to.
Main started his career with hometown club Darlington before joining Middlesbrough three years ago.
He made 52 appearances for Boro, scoring six goals.
Main had a year left on his deal at the Riverside but has departed on the hunt for regular starts.
