Billy Sharp admits he is relishing the prospect of playing regular football again and doing so in a Rovers shirt.
The fan favourite signed on loan from Southampton until the end of the season yesterday and cannot wait to get his third spell with Rovers underway.
“I just want to play football so hopefully I can come and score a lot of goals again,” Sharp said.
“I had my heart set on coming here and I made sure I made ut happen from my side.
“The gaffer has worked hard along with the team and the board and I’m just delighted to be on board again.
“I just want to come here, help the team out and get them climbing the table.
“I’ve got a great relationship with the fans and hopefully I can kick start that again.
“I had a great spell here last time and hopefully I can do it again.
“I still want to impress and try and do better than what I did last time. Hopefully I can do that sooner rather than later.
“This was the right move for me at the right time.
“It’s my third loan spell in two seasons which doesn’t help but I just felt this was right and hopefully I can be successful.”
