ALYSSA Lagonia and Millie Bright fired Belles to just their second win of the season - and off the bottom of the FA Women's Super League.
Belles had their shooting boots on at the Keepmoat Stadium, where they had scored just one goal in four matches prior to Thursday night's derby clash.
John Buckley's side adopted a shoot on sight philosophy and had more belief in the final third, with young striker Jess Sigsworth leading the line with genuine presence and enthusiasm.
Lagonia broke the deadlock midway through the first half in spectacular style from way out wide on the right when her long range effort caught Lincoln goalkeeper Nicola Hobbs off her line.
Bright doubled the advantage after the break when Hobbs only half punched clear a corner and the Belles forward was on hand to blast home from close range.
Former Belles striker Precious Hamilton came off the bench to glance home a header for Lincoln and set up a nervous finale but Belles held on to claim all three points.
The victory, Belles' second win over Lincoln this season, moved Doncaster above Liverpool in the FAWSL standings and off the bottom of the table.
