LAMINE Diatta, as reported in last week’s Free Press, is the latest new arrival at Rovers.
The 36-year-old free agent has signed a two-month deal at the Keepmoat Stadium to provide more defensive cover.
Dean Saunders had hoped to have the former St Etienne and Lyon defender on board in time for the visit of Southampton - but Diatta has only just returned to Doncaster after spending a few days back in France.
Saunders was able to recall George Friend to the bench on Saturday - and has been delighted with the form of new central pairing Habib Beye and Sam Hird - but the arrival of Diatta gives him more options for a hectic festive period.
Diatta, a former Senegal captain, left Tunisian club Etoile Sportive du Sahel earlier this year and was thus able to sign for Doncaster out of the transfer window.
His protracted arrival is still not completely over the line yet however.
Rovers still require international clearance from the Tunisian FA and that may not arrive in time for Diatta to be involved at Birmingham this weekend.
