Peterborough are on a bad run as well, it’s a similar situation to us, writes John Buckley.
They were going quite well, pushing West Brom all the way in the FA Cup, like we did with Stoke City, but since then have completely dropped off in terms of their form.
We cannot afford not to get anything against them this weekend. Let’s forget about playing well and just get a result. I think then the confidence could return, because for one reason or another, Rovers are just not coping at all well with the pressure at the minute.
Against Bradford we created chances in the last ten minutes and nearly ended up with a draw. That would’ve been a cardinal sin for Bradford.
We have to take the way we finished that game into the next one. Right at the start of the game we looked decent, for five minutes.
Then before we knew it we were behind and hopeless. We conceded at the start of both halves, losing goals early on.
And now it’s D-day against Peterborough, especially after Oldham won on Tuesday. It’s between Rovers, Oldham and Blackpool.
At least on Saturday there were a couple of players who were much improved, Andy Butler being the main one.
Bucky’s charity bet: Rovers 2 Peterborough 1.
