Cameron John explained it was his knee that guided home Doncaster Rovers’ bizarre equaliser against MK Dons.

The on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers defender drew Rovers level four minutes from time against Milton Keynes after the ball ricocheted off him following a goal line clearance.

And he said he was delighted to add another goal to his collection from an injury-hit spell with Rovers.

“It was a bit of a whirlwind really, to be honest,” John said.

“Jamo [Reece James] put a great ball I and I thought it was going to go straight in from the corner.

“The keeper or one of them as pushed it out and I just kneed it back in.

“It’s a good feeling to be back on the scoresheet.

“It was a bit of a messy goal but you need those scrappy goals sometimes.”

The 20-year-old has now netted three goals in ten appearances for Rovers and is somewhat surprised himself by his scoring run.

“I don’t know where it’s come from to be honest – last year I didn’t score any.

“It’s nice for me to chip in where ever I can whether it’s defending or scoring goals.

“It’s been good.”
