The Belles are back in action on Sunday at title-chasing Chelsea, a fortnight after their 4-0 drubbing by Sunderland which ensured their hunt for a first point of the campaign would go into a sixth game.

And midfielder Lipka says they have taken the lastest mini-break of their stop-start season as a chance to reflect on the situation at the club.

“You can look at the results and think ‘we’ve lost again’ but we now within ourselves that we’re a strong unit on and off the pitch,” she said.

“We’ve got the belief so we just need to build on that and get the results.

“It’s time for reflection and building on the things we’ve been doing behind the scenes, which have been very positive.

“Against Sunderland, it was quite highly-charged in terms of both teams needing the points and it was quite frustrating to come away with the results we did.

“But we’ll build and we’ll come back stronger.”

Sunday’s hosts Chelsea are a point off the top of the table and have played a game more than leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea suffered only their second league defeat of the season on Sunday when they were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal, the side that beat them in the Women’s FA Cup final.

Their only other defeat came to leaders Manchester City.

The Belles currently sit four points adrift at the foot of the table but have played two games fewer than next side Reading.
