MORE than 100 teams and over 5,000 spectators - including a few famous faces - graced Cantley Park at the weekend for Bessacarr FC’s annual junior football tournament.

The competition attracted clubs from Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, East Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Birmingham, as well as those closer to home from the Doncaster and Sheffield Leagues.

Scouts from Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield United, Barnsley and Manchester City were at the event to keep an eye on the talent.

The tournament was also watched by Rovers goalkeeper Gary Woods, Tottenham Hotspur’s Doncaster-born youngster Danny Rose, as well as former Rovers stars Leo Fortune-West, Paul Raven, Paul Marquis and John Buckley.
