Great Scott as leaders Main get back on track

DONCASTER Senior League Premier Division leaders Rossington Main got back to winning ways after last week’s cup defeat, beating Carcroft Village 5-0.

Scott Maughan grabbed four of the goals with Niall Doyle completing the tally.

The second and third placed teams also returned good victories.

Bramley Sunnyside posted a 5-2 win against Bawtry Town thanks to goals by Tom Salt, Matthew Brunyee, Liam Miree, Scott Hayes and Marc Trowill. Fryer scored both consolation goals for Town.

Luke Chambers found the net twice and there was one apiece for Ryan Walker and Darren Smith as third placed Sutton Rovers ran out 4-1 winners at Kinsley Boys, for whom Nigel Perks replied.

Strikes by Jamie Woodhall, Ben Hodgson and Brian Wright secured Brodsworth Welfare a 3-0 win over bottom club South Kirkby Colliery.

Edlington Town and AFC Sportsman Rovers were involved in a seven-goal thriller in which Town won 4-3. Craig Sticklen, Lee Hayes, Ricky Caudwell and Dean Lahney were all on the mark for Town with Josh Critchley, Craig Newsome and Ben Pankovic for the visitors.

Steve Nutter scored all four goals as South Elmsall United won 4-1 against Swinton Station Athletic.

A Steven Clarke goal gave second-placed Shafton Villa a 1-0 Division One victory at third-placed Ackworth United.

Leaders Denaby United hit five without reply against visitors Hemsworth MW with goals from Scott Aspinall, Daniel Noonan, Jason Astphall, Ryan Oakley and Ainsley Finney.

Dunscroft United were 2-0 winners against Woodlands Rhinos. South Kirkby Town secured all three points with a 1-0 victory away at Highwayman.

The bottom two clubs scored nine goals between them as ISG Doncaster edged out Askern Athletic 6-3. Sebastian Milinski bagged a brace for the winners with Pawel Korabiusz, Marek Szeszol, Lukasz Szynal and Robert Lendzioszak also netting for ISG.

Matthew Curtis hit a double for Askern with James Andrews also chipping in.

Bawtry Town Reserves continued their revival with a 5-0 win over Sun FC. Roger Bows, Robert Hollinger, Dale Lattimore, Matthew Wilson and John McConnichie were all on target.
