The money paid to agents by Football League clubs have been published today.

FC Business Magazine released the figures which cover the period from October 1, 2015 and February 1, 2016.

Sheffield United's £116,488 in payments was the second highest in League One, behind current leaders Wigan Athletic (£164,268).

The £63,850 paid by Rotherham United was the third lowest in the Championship, and would have put them only fourth in the League One table.

Sheffield Wednesday paid the most in our region, £264,988, but that placed them only tenth in the list of Championship payments.

The lowest was Barnsley, whose £5,726 put them 15th in the League One clubs.

Doncaster Rovers paid £54,936 during the period, the fourth highest in League One.

And Chesterfield made £16,225 worth of payments, the ninth most in the third tier.

The only club outside the Premier League to break the seven figure mark was Queens Park Rangers, who paid a staggering £1,002,232.

Only ten of the 92 clubs in the top four English divisions paid no money to agents during the period.
