Finningley fly high in KO Cup

CHAMPIONSHIP leaders Finningley Athletic romped to a 9-1 win over Division Three strugglers Balby Rovers in their Doncaster Sunday Alliance League First Group Cup second round tie.

Peter Lindsley notched a hat-trick for the winners with Lewis Williams, Adam Riley, Scott Halton, Simon Wright, Peter Richardson and Tyler Huffer sharing the other six goals.

Hatfield Woodhouse, who are propping up Division Two, beat Division Four title challengers Balby CSV 4-1, courtesy of goals by Lee Moncuit (3) and Stuart Howell. Matthew Bradley netted for the losers.

Second-placed Championship side Hawthorn (Ryan Evans 3, Mark Carter 2, Jamie Hayes) dumped Division Two strugglers Hatfield Town (Brendan Jeffrey, Keiran Sanderson) out of the competition following their 6-2 win.

Championship strugglers Brodsworth United won 12-1 at lowly Division Three outfit Hesley. Ryan Soar, Richard England and Dan Hulley all notched a hat-trick with Byron McDermott, Darren Bird and Aiden Armstrong also hitting the target.

Third Division New Mallard pulled off major shock, beating Premier Division Corner Pin by the odd goal in five. Rosehill Press(Ryan Ambler 2, John Corrie, Blake Wilson) beat Maltings 4-0.

Rossington United beat Division Two derby hosts Rossington Legion 5-0. Division One title challengers Skellow Rangers posted a 5-2 win over Arksey Victoria. Sam Corner grabbed four of the goals with Keiran Bridges also netting.

Bay Horse Misfits crashed to a 9-1 defeat at Social Bar. A Shayne Buchan double, and a goal by Trevor Hindson earned Stainforth a 3-1 win over Louis Tomlinson’s Three Horseshoes United. Crown Hotel coasted to a 7-0 win Balby Rec.

Park Social (Daniel Beedle 2, Richard Powell, Chris Downing) beat Sun(Daniel Nunns 2, James Byetheway) by the odd goal in seven.

A Lee John hat-trick helped seal a 4-3 win for Toll Bar over Windmill. Perry Wilson also netted.

Premier Division Tumbler had their shooting boots on when beating The Askern 14-0. Walton Wanderers also cashed in on their chances in their 12-4 win at Wadworth Sports.

Wheatley Hotel recorded a 6-0 win at Warren House Warriors. Tap Maker (Carl Horsley, Lee Pearson, Scott Pearson) claimed a 3-2 win at White Hart Colts, for whom Nathan Booth and Eddie Anderson replied. Nail Barker and Billy Kirkham both hit a hat-trick in Willaspoons 9-2 win over Armthorpe Village (Chris Passmore, Wayne Adams). Jonathon Lupton, Michael Ryan and Paul Kostyszyn also netted.
