Doncaster 8 Sheffield Eagles 78
DONCASTER'S season went from bad to worse as the Eagles landed fourteen tries in a one-sided South Yorkshire derby.
Like last week's 70-6 capitulation to Batley Bulldogs - also played at Featherstone Rovers' Chris Moyles Stadium - the Dons held their own for the first 20 minutes.
Second row Craig Lawton gave Tony Miller's side some hope as he went over midway through the first half after Tangi Ropati's converted try broke the deadlock for the visitors.
But a score from man of the match Menzie Yere just before the half hour mark - the first of a 13 minute hat trick - opened the floodgates and condemned the Dons to a ninth straight defeat.
Former Doncaster winger Danny Mills notched a fifth try to help open up a 28-4 half-time lead which was soon extended as two more Dons old boys Craig Cook and Kyle Wood added to their former side's woes.
Yere then grabbed his fourth try of the game, before Brendon Lindsay, Ropati, Matty Brooks and winger Damian Gibson, who claimed a sensational hat trick inside seven minutes, rounded off an emphatic win - sealed by Johnny Woodcock's 11 conversions.
Centre Mike Coady added a late consolation score for the Dons who must now lick their wounds as they prepare to face title chasing Widnes Vikings away on Saturday.
