Notts County 0 Doncaster Rovers 2

DONCASTER Rovers were at their clinical best once again as second half goals from Paul Keegan and Chris Brown secured a third straight win.

Dean Saunders' game plan was a very familiar one before the break as Rovers set their stall out to be hard to break down.

It worked a treat as they frustrated the Magpies and when home boss Keith Curle changed his tactics at half time - bringing striker Lee Hughes on for defender Dean Leacock - it played into Doncaster's hands.

Rovers suddenly had more space to play in the final third and Dave Syers' inch perfect cross was headed home by Paul Keegan for his first goal for the club.

And within moments the clinical visitors doubled their lead.

Like Syers, Iain Hume found himself in space and picked out Chris Brown, a half time replacement for Billy Paynter, to fire past Bartosz Bialkowski from inside the area.

The home side huffed and puffed for long periods but just did not have the key to unlock Doncaster's well disciplined defence, again marshalled superbly by Rob Jones.

Yoann Arquin turned nicely midway through the first half and let fly from distance but his 25-yard effort went well wide of the right hand post.

Hume, in fact, had the best chance of the half when he seized upon a mistake by Ashley Eastham, ran clear but fired wide of the target.

But the game hinged on Curle's half time tactical change - and Keegan and Brown made no mistake in front of goal when they were presented with the opportunity to continue Rovers' impressive form.
