BRIAN Flynn has promised to put his own stamp on title-chasing Doncaster Rovers.

The Welshman’s first game in permanent charge saw Rovers produce one of their most accomplished home displays of the season, brushing aside Leyton Orient with goals from Rob Jones and Chris Brown.

And Flynn, who has reiterated the club’s desire to go up as champions, says there is still more to come from his high-flyers.

“The teamwork here is superb,” said Flynn, following Saturday’s comfortable 2-0 win.

“But there’s still a bit more to come. I think I can get more out of certain individuals.

“Without naming names, I think I can get more out of certain players for the final push by working with them on the training pitch.

“So far I’ve just told the players to carry on what they’ve been doing,” he added.

“At the moment it’s not broken. But I’ll do it my way.

“There’ll be some subtle changes, it’s just the players don’t realise it yet.

“We’ve got a lovely break now for a couple of weeks and that’ll give us a bit of time to work on a few things on the training ground.”

Flynn, whose side return to action on February 2 at Bury, wants to bolster his squad before the end of January and has set his sights on going up in style, stating the club are intent on winning the League One title.

And the 57-year-old is relishing his return to club management after spending the last eight years working for the Welsh FA, spending the majority of that time in charge of Wales’ U21 side.

“We’re in a good position in the table, but we’re not settling for second best,” said Flynn.

“Everyone here wants a medal and we’ll all be working hard to try and achieve that.

“I never gave up hope of getting back into league management,” he added.

“I didn’t want to come back and get a lot of grief, because I know a lot of league managers have a lot to put up with.

“I like working with good players. I feed off that.

“That’s what I’ve missed the most.”
