Pontefract League: Back-to-back wins for Hatfield Town

Hatfield Town secured back-to-back Premier Division victories by beating Hooton Pagnell.

Town were full of confidence and it showed as they started in great fashion, reducing the hosts to 39-5 before a superb knock of 84 from Joshua John saw Pagnell reach 165 all out.

Shehzad Hussain starred with the ball, snaring excellent figures of 6-48.

Town lost two early wickets but recovered thanks to 51 from Ellis Pattison and 76 from Alec Elliott and reached their target with three wickets to spare.

Askern Welfare continued their good form with a two wicket triumph at West Bretton.

The hosts posted 187-5 from their 46 overs. Charlie Mundy took two wickets.

Askern lost four of their first five batsmen for ducks but Dean Smith (72), Andrew O’Grady (42) and Ross Adamson (27no) saw them home with just three balls to spare.
