HATFIELD Town beat the weather and bottom side Whitley Bridge to claim a maximum point victory in Division Two.

Nicky Page (5-23) and Chris Stothard (4-23) ran through Bridge’s batting line up to skittle the visitors for 97.

An unbeaten 65 by Andy Cutts steered Town to a comfortable eight wicket victory - while the rain meant most of the division had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Rain caused a premature halt to Askern Welfare’s home game with Thurnscoe Institute.

Welfare had reached 71-4 when play was abandoned, leaving them with just two points.

Yokshire Main and Barnby Dun were also frustrated by the weather.

Luke Sykes (52) provided the foundation for Main’s knock of 156-9, only for further play to be washed out.
