ROSSINGTON carried on from where they left off to get their South Yorkshire League season off to a winning start.
Last season’s Division Two champions defeated Norton Oakes by two wickets to make a solid start to life in the top tier.
Norton batted first and faltered to 58-5 before stuttering to 153-8 at the close, with James Needham taking 3-2 for Rossington.
The home side looked to be cruising to victory when they reached 80-1, thanks to 35 from Greg Mann and 38 from Pete Harvey.
Wickets, however, fell regularly and Rossington reached their target with just two wickets and nine overs remaining.
