Cricket: Haxey youngsters do the double

Haxey CC’s under-15s claimed two wins in a matter of days as they downed Messingham and Normanby Park.

The visit against Messingham saw Haxey’s youngsters spread the batting scores well as Tom Smith, Luke Allen, Will Drury and Jack Mitchell all claiming good totals to see them over the line by 47 runs.

Matthew Harris was Haxey’s star bowler, picking up two wickets for seven.

Days later Haxey clinched their second victory, winning by 83 runs over Normanby Park.

The Scunthorpe & District Colts match saw impressive batting performances again from Smith (26 not out), Drury (25) and Sam Brook (25 not out) for a total of 150.

Harris, James Percival and Harry Bramhill all claimed wickets as Park fell to a total of 67.
