Baxter, whose fabulous career for the Rock has sadly been brought to premature end under doctor’s orders, led the team in his final appearance. Having won the toss Norton Oakes decided to bat and got off to a flying start reaching 30 without loss in only 6 overs, however 2 quick wickets for Rockingham put the game back in the balance. A partnership of 30 between Luke Sage and Ben Hall, seemed to have steadied the ship for Norton Oakes. When Rockingham finally made the break through, wickets began to fall at regular interval, due to the wily bowling of Rockingham veteran Martyn Hewitt (4-25). The Norton innings closed at 145 for 9.

In reply David Baxter signed off with 52 not out (10 fours) accompanied with Dave Smith’s 69 not out (12 fours and a six) as Rockingham gained their victory without loss of a wicket.
