A five-wicket defeat sees Haxey’s first team just nine points in front of bottom side Hartsholme.
Having secured promotion into the Lincs ECB Premier League last season, Haxey have endured a difficult campaign as they attempt to establish themselves as one of the top clubs in Lincolnshire.
However, the club have been keen to utilise their squad and have also used the season to promote youth and give them a chance at the highest level.
Despite a spirited performance from Mark Atkins’ men, the firsts slipped to defeat on home soil against high-flyers Sleaford. Josh Savage top scored for the Isle side with 16 as captain Atkins claimed a double with the ball.
Haxey face Louth on Saturday in a bid to stretch the gap away from bottom-placed Hartsholme.
