BIG-HEARTED walkers who stepped out to raise thousands for the Scan for Life appeal have received medals in a special ceremony.
The Midnight Walk held last month around Doncaster's Lakeside is set to raise more than £8,500 for the Free Press appeal to help buy a new state-of-the-art cancer scanner for DRI.

Minister for Yorkshire and local MP Rosie Winterton and chairman of Doncaster Council - who both completed the walk - handed out medals at the ceremony at the information and advice centre at St John's Hospice in Balby on Friday evening.

The appeal hopes to raise £600,000 for Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust to buy the scanner.
