CROWDED House most definitely bought the weather with them to Sherwood Pines Forest Park, as they serenaded young and old under the tall trees.
A beautiful night was had by all as we sat on our picnic chairs, on a blanket, or stood near the stage taking in the breathtaking music made by this Australian band. Frontman Neil Finn brought a great twist to the concert as he kept the crowd in high
spirits with his bizarre sense of humour, and even had a game of frisbee with youngsters who hurled their disc on to the stage. This kind of interaction is rarely seen with modern bands and had me muttering the old cliche "They just don't make 'em like this anymore."

Highlights of the night were the crowd singing Don't Dream it's Over and Weather With You in amazing harmony. The venue made this even more special with the trees lit up and the lovely summer's evening which perfectly suited the music of this folky rock band. Crowded House's new material will not disappoint fans either with quite an upbeat rhythm and, as always, meaning and feeling.

This is the first time I have caught Crowded House live, and it was a real treat. Sherwood Pines Forest Park is a very special venue. Just remember to bring your picnic and comfy chair. Very sublime.
