ROLL up, roll up, to the smartest circus in town.
Billy Smart's Circus paid a visit to Doncaster and it was certainly one not to be missed.

With a fantastic acrobatic opening with lots of special lighting effects and lots of ropeworks the audience was transfixed by the tumbling acrobats. A quick
turn around between acts and entertainment being provided by Chico Rico the clown, ensured that the audience didn't get restless and the crowd was kept continuously entertained.

The illusion act was mesmerising. The look on everyone's face told the same story: "How do they do that?"

Straight after the interval came the trapeze act. This was simply breath-taking. They were somersaulting through the air to gasps from the audience as we sat there wondering how they managed to time each move so perfectly (whilst secretly hoping they would fall, just because they were so sickeningly good)*. Somehow the evening becomes even more entertaining when you get to the part of audience participation. Can't help but think this is the circus's way of getting back at people and having a little entertainment of their own, but who can blame them.

Believe me, it's twice as funny when it's your partner who is participating! Overall. two hours of good quality entertainment at a cost all families could afford and with reasonably priced food, you can't go wrong. Billy Smart's Circus was a sure fire hit with the kids - although I now have a three year old who thinks she is a fully qualified gymnast and insists on tumbling all around the house!

Tia, aged three said: "I loved the ladies flying through the air like fairies. I really liked the clown - he was very funny and made me laugh lots."
(*By the way there was a safety net)
