Isle '˜besties' spending the summer raising charity cash

Helping to save lives by spending the summer holidays raising cash for charity are a group of Isle friends.

South Axholme Academy students Molly Warr, 12, Elizabeth McCallum, 12, and Caitlin Bradwell, 13, are taking part in the Humberside Police Project as the team Besties 105.

Their aim is to raise money for L.I.V.E.S. - the first responder charity, and so far they have collected in £110 through a bake sale at South Axholme Sharks swimming club’s fun night and a yard sale.

Other events include a sponsored swimathon on September 3 at Epworth Pool and a garden party.

The team have also joined forced with another group called The Heroic Helpers to help with their fundraising towards Pride of the Isle. Members of this group who all attend Belton All Saints Primary are ten-year-olds Natalia Bradwell, Imogen Harris, Isabella Ash and Jaipreet Mattu.

Adult adviser Gill Warr said: “We have had amazing support from businesses in the area, with lots of raffle prizes being donated.”
