A man accused of wounding another man who has now died could face alternative charges.

James Harvey, aged 34, of Park Road, Askern, was charged with wounding after an attack outside the White Hart pub, High Street, Askern, in the early hours of Monday, May 20.

Darron Januszkiewicz, 35, suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident and was rushed to hospital but died on Monday.

He was a married dad-of-two.

It is thought Harvey could now face murder or manslaughter charges.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "The charge hasn’t changed yet but this will likely be raised at the next court appearance."

Anyone with information on the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
