Women hurt in A1(M) crash as they slow down for lorry fire

TWO women have been injured after crashing on the A1(M) after slowing down for a lorry fire.

The wagon went up in flames near junction 35 of the southbound carriageway, Wadworth, early this morning.

The women were travelling in a Renault Clio which collided with a Vauxhall Corsa near to the scene.

They were taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary suffering from whiplash, a fire service spokesman said.

He added it is believed they were injured when they slowed down to look at the incident at around 12.10am.

The lorry driver and the Vauxhall driver were unharmed, the spokesman added.
