Doncaster sports clubs, businesses and artists will attempt to help young people plan for their future through a series of activites organised by the council.
The Doncaster Central Area team has organised a week of activities between August 20 and 23, designed to raise the aspirations of young people in Town Moor and Intake.
The activities week will give young people in those areas the chance to learn about volunteering and making a difference in the area, work on a community art project, learn from the best coaches from Doncaster Rovers, Castle Park Knights and Danum Eagles and meet successful business people from across Doncaster and receive informal careers advice, including information about apprenticeships.
Councillor Joe Blackham cabinet member for neighbourhoods, enforcement and tradings, said: “People in Town Moor and Intake asked for an event like this and the team has delivered a week of inspiring activities aimed at helping young people plan for their futures.”
The ‘aspiration week’ will be kicked off on August 20 with a careers fair at United Reform Church in Intake from noon, and everyone who attends the week will be entered into a prize draw to win prizes, including Rovers tickets.
