Isle residents who visit Scunthorpe are being reminded the disabled toilet in Central Park has been closed due to a vandalism attack last week.
The damage resulted in the door and lock being broken, leaving it unfit for use.
North Lincolnshire Council had to close the toilet until the necessary repairs can be carried out, which includes fitting a new door. It will cost around £1000 to repair.
Disabled users are now being advised to use the nearby facilities at The Pods or Civic Centre.
A council spokesperson said: “The disabled toilet was damaged so badly that we were unable to repair it quickly, which has left us with no option but to close it.
“It is appalling that we cannot provide facilities for people without them being vandalised.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however it is essential we ensure that the disabled toilet is suitable for people to use before it is opened again. We will get the repair work carried out as soon as possible.
“We have seen quite a lot of vandalism to the toilets and Nutshell Café over recent years – this just isn’t acceptable.”
