Doncaster Council is asking members of the public to be vigilant following a number of break-ins at dumpit sites.
Four youths were arrested last month at the site in Rossington, with another youth receiving a suspended sentence after stealing items from the Balby centre . There have also been break-ins at Conisbrough in recent months.
Director of r egeneration and e nvironment Peter Dale said: “Theft from our sites is a growing concern and our contractors often have to spend time and money to clearing up after break-ins.
“We will not tolerate any form of crime in Doncaster and our Safer Neighbourhood teams are stepping up patrols around h ousehold w aste r ecycling c entres.
“I would urge everyone to stay away from these sites after-hours. Taking items from any HWRC site is a crime and we will work with the police wherever necessary to prosecute offenders.”
