A LEAFLET drop is to take place in an effort to drum up volunteers to lock and unlock the gates at Crowle’s Manor Park.
The decision was made at this month’s meeting of Crowle and Ealand Town Council after member Ron Stewart informed his colleagues about the dwindling number of people on the current rota.
The rota runs out at the end of this month and Coun Stewart explained there are only seven people who take turns with gate duties, of which four are town councillors.
Fencing has been added to the site and - following a three year revamp which saw £154,000 invested in play equipment and facilities - park committee members are keen to maintain security.
The gates are unlocked each morning and then locked again in the evening although this varies according to sunset times throughout the year.
Councillors agreed to post leaflets, appealing for volunteers, to streets located close to Manor Park. Anyone who would like to help should contact Coun Stewart on 01724 712411.
