VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with collections for Marie Curie Cancer Care around the Dearne.
The charity would like people to give an hour of their time at collection points around the Dearne as part of their Great Daffodil Appeal.
Volunteers are needed at the Co-op in Hoyland between March 2 and 4 and at Morrisons in Cortonwood between March 9 and 11.
The charity is hoping to raise more than £37,000 from over 115 collection points across South Yorkshire.
Local fundraiser Liz Howlett said: “We have collection dates booked at a number of venues in Barnsley, see below, and would really appreciate help from local people in making sure we raise as much money as possible from these.
“You’ll be surprised by how much you can raise in just a couple of hours and every daffodil badge exchanged for a donation will help us to provide more nursing care to people terminally ill at home.
“We want to get as many people as possible wearing daffodils this March so if you think you are able to give just two hours to help collect at a venue near you in the coming months then please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
