A CHARITY is appealing for people to volunteer after revealing it is 50 per cent down on man power.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Furniture & Electrical Store in Doncaster is asking residents who are looking for work to give up some spare time and volunteer to pitch in with the 250 hours help they require each week.
The BHF Doncaster Furniture & Electrical Store gives volunteers the opportunity to learn new skills, gain full training and also have a guaranteed interview for any paid position that becomes available.
Last year BHF Furniture & Electrical Stores awarded 600 NVQs in England and Wales.
Chris Ward, Area Manager for Doncaster said: “Our volunteers are vital to the work of the BHF and we appreciate every minute people can spare. We also hope to give something back; in a time of nationwide job cuts BHF Furniture & Electrical Stores are encouraging local people in Doncaster to keep their foot on the career ladder and gain some excellent experience.
“Last year, over 600 paid jobs were created and we hope to repeat that success this year.”
Doncaster BHF Furniture & Electrical Store offers roles from warehouse and administration to selling and dealing with customer enquiries. For more information on volunteering visit bhf.org.uk/volunteer or contact 0844 412 5000.
